Day 11...........It going to be a tricky week

Well the magic bus.......or GERT as I call her is sick.

Seems she needs a new fuel pump. $1100 later. OMG

She's off to the DR tomorrow.

But to kick back and relax we've been fishing at the river. Lots of action in the water. But no home prize. Kids made boats to see if they could float. It was hot but lots of fun.

Finally we got our Christmas present today. We decided that something usefull was in order. Window tinting. This car has alot more window and our legs get burnt. Can't put the windows down for 48hrs . Thankgod for Air con.

Saw Alvin 2 at the movies. It was funny.

What the? A small trip to Penrith to buy gloves. Yes Gloves. For him for work. Not very exciting.

But on the way home we drove out to the drop zone to see what damage was done with the latest fires. WOW the colours were amazing. Black red orange and the whole brown spectrum. It was amazing. This is today's PHOTO.

What was amazing and part of life/nature. Green. After all this rain a spray of green was every where on the forest floor.

I have had a huge clean up in my room. Piles, clothes, baskets etc all cleaned up and returned to where it once came from. Washing OH yes. Had to use the dryer. Can wait for the sun I've run out of undies......lol

Lazy Sunday. Where is summer?

We went to the movie's last night.......SLEEP OVER kids. After arriving late we were sent to another theatre and given 2 free tickets for the inconvenience. Wow they can do that anytime.

Had plans to go fishing...............but NO. Rain. My body is very confused. So its movies etc.

I'll add this pic later. its on my phone and I have no idea how to get it off the phone. I know there's a cord involved.

We decided to have a party for Maddison for her 13th Birthday today. As hubby and I are so very organised we got everything ready and cooked in a few hrs. We were awesome.

Well it seems this yrs thing is 365 Photo's/layouts etc. So I'm going to give it a try.

So far I'm on track for the photo's. I thought I'd give my perspective on stuff. So later in life I can look back on what I was thinking......or not.

I'm going to sit down a write a list of goals for the year. and then put them away....(Thanks Dawn) I really need to think about it though.

What a surprise to see how long its been since I've posted anything.

I was very sick for a while. Phenomena and then the flu. Everyone shared.....how nice is that.

I discovered facebook. I so love it. Mostly Mafia Wars. Although I don't fight anyone. Just do jobs and earn money to buy properties. Its the safe road I guess.

Fires in VIC

Like most Aussies I woke Sunday to find the world had changed for my Aussies and it would never be the same.

The stories coming from Kinglake etc is just beyond thinking. I think its a lot of little things that lead to this tragedy. Heat Wind etc. None of it makes any sense. And whilst I try to shield my kids from the news, they still know whats happened.

I like the idea of stores giving all profits for a day to the bush fires etc but I really don't like it when its one product. Most people don't buy one product so it means they make profit. I'll be avoiding these stores.

I was very proud. Jackson says he giving some of his millions to them.....10c pieces.lol

There's lots of fund raising going on everywhere. We'll be participating in as many things as is humanly possible. Kev wants to go fight the fires. But I told him to stay in case anything happened up here. Dad was asked to go down.......hes an army engineer. But there's too much going on so he can't.

I hope they get who started this........it will be interesting to see what happens.

I've had this double layout half done for a few weeks. Seeing how the weather has me locked in the lounge room I was able to finish it off. Its such a simple layout really and I used a swap.....from some time ago. I have no idea who made it.....there was no name.

On another note. Its devastating the news from VIC. Over 60 people have died in fires. Its heart breaking. It makes you feel helpless as to what to do. I'll have to look into that tomorrow.

Friday was too hot

It was too hot yesterday to do anything.

After I got kids from school we went to mums. We stayed till late.

When Kev got home we decided it was to hot to sleep in our home. So it was a sleep over in the lounge room. The air con was on all night. First time this year. Or ever I think.

I'm so over this heat. There's a fire some where too so I can't got out. Smoke is a big asthma trigger for me. I'm really not interested in going to hospital. But then who ever is.

I have big news.

One of the swaps for February is a card swap. I wanted to make something that was my very own. Using my pazzles of course. I made my own cutting file from scratch. A cupcake. And this is the card I made. I'm really proud of it.

Oz swap is my home away from home. Oz Swap Till You Drop. Its a swap group in Australia. And I've been a member for quiet a few years now. I've learnt so much from the ladies on the group. But best of all I've made alot of forever friends.

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world doesn't care about your
self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

It's February Already

It's February Already. Where did January go.

The last 2 weeks have been very HOT. How cool is this pic.

Last week all the kids where back at school. With a few changes of course. Maddison went to yr 7. She came a different kid. In a very good way. And Master Jackson started Kindy. It seems that having 2 sisters who already go made him very relaxed about the whole thing.....................HOWEVER he tells me he can't go Wednesday because he's going to the Markets.

I'm up at 6:30 to get Maddy off to school. Once she's gone its then time to get the other 2 ready. This may take a while to get used to.

How cute are they.

Where have I been

Well it seems I've been sick. I had no idea, lots of temps but nothing else. Went to the Quacks and got sorted. But it wasn't fun.

Today is my mums birthday. Happy Birthday mum. She's a very young 55.

School goes back in less than a week. I'm going to miss them. Its a big year. One starting school and another starting high school. WOW where did that go. I can't believe it.

I have spent all evening working out how to make word books. I had a really good tutorial from pazzles and once I worked out what was what I was set.

I've made one for my nephew Lucas that is so cute. I used Disney font so my sister will be proud.

And I made another as a surprise for them. I hope it will be. (Hmmmm who could it be)

This evening my brother in law is getting his next tattoo. He's having Lucas put on his arm I think. I'm looking forward to seeing it. His tattoo's are very unique.

BUT most importantly, BattleStar Galactica. The final 10 episodes started airing. Oh I'm so excited to see how everything turns out. When I was a kid, the original series was the first show I ever took a fancy for. I'm starting to re watch them and I'm really surprised how much I remember. Not to mention how funny the special effects are for there time. WOW we really have it good now.

I'm off to see whats on the idiot box

Been to the city.......Sydney.

We've just got back from the City.........Oh yes, it was like the clampets go to Beverly hills.

For those who have never seen my hubby he's a country bumpkin and looks so out of place. Come to think of it we did too. You can tell who the tourists are.....US

We won a Harbour bridge climb so off he went...............he bought photos and didn't fall off the coat hanger so that's all that's important. Kev took a friend of ours Ness. It was a funny site.

We went to the Sydney reptile park thing. Its next to the aquarium. It was awesome. I had heaps of butterflies land on my hat. Yes I took photos. So did all the tourists of my head. It was so cool.....or hot.

Funny thing.......we saw a group of girls sun baking in the park. Jack saw me looking and said " Those kids are silly mum, there's no water here, and there turning red" Maddisons response. "Yes jack there getting cancer. They think its fashion." Shelby added. "I'm not doing that. I don't like red, I like Pink.".

Well I'm off to look at my photos from today and find paper to match. Might go for a Milk shake at RED's.

High Temps

Well it reached 44 today. And that was on the veranda. Have no idea what is was in the sun.

Today is a special day. Its my Nana's Birthday. We'll be heading up to her grave soon. I have a heap of fake flowers to give her. No point using real as they die in an hour.

I hate the heat. Sandwiches for tea as its too hot to cook.

Scrapping today

My sweet Shelby Bellby decided she would scrap today. But of course I have to scrap next her. Which is very hard.......if you've ever scrapped with a kid, they tend to want help every 30 seconds. But today she surprised me. She had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do. And I think she did very well. Seeing she's only 7.

So I managed to get a whole page done in 30mins. Very fast. And its very bright too.

As she was still going I though I should keep going and I got out the Christmas photos from this year. It would have been very quick except I didn't have the right colour paint wise so I did and opposite colour and ink to get a different effect. Its simple but I like it.
I have my next photos out and ready to scrap tomorrow. But I might take a look at my Disney album and see what needs doing there too.

Well it's just gone midnight so off to bed for me.

I made these 2 for my mum and sister. They love them.......or at least they said they did....lol

Today I'm making one for myself. And I'll try not to be so glitter happy. I think I may have add just a bit too much to these.

I am however on a mission to find the perfect wings. I'm hoping to find a WPC file of just the right wings or butterfly shape. I've had many idea's but still playing with what looks best. If you have any ideas let me know.

And of course its a double.

Who is it.............I hear you ask. Even I had to look twice when I found these. Well its me. OMG.

I look so different.........young. It was 1990. Almost 20yrs ago. FAR OUT.

The next lot of pages I did are of all the other photos of the day. This is the first layout I've used my Pazzles on. I just love the title. And the swirls. So very cool. I must say however that finding paper for these photos was not easy. Seems the background colours where very dark and yuck. But I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

They guy..............His name is Mathew. Such a lovely guy. He was a good friend at the time. I wonder what he's doing now. Great things I'm sure because I was going to grow into a lovely man that's for sure. Who knows.............I might try finding him. I'll let you know how I go.

I really think he grows as a person.

Other TV stuff

Battlestar galactica starts in the next 2 weeks. I can't wait to see what happens.

Stargate Atlantis.................I've seen the last episodes. WOW I can't wait to see the movie that follows that. As the last episode airs on Friday I'll keep my mouth shut.

Stargate Universe doesn't start till July this year. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Movies for this year.

Star Trek 11...............I love the previews. it looks awesome.
Secret life of bees..............saw interview on Oprah. Amazing.
Fast and Furious..........You just know the car chases will be good.
Narnia Voyage of the dawn trader................You just know it will be good.

My new TOY

It finally happened. I have a CUTTING machine.

And not a simple one. I was going to get the MM slice. But I jumped in 2 feet first and got the Pazzles.

YES a PAZZLES.

Because its holidays I haven't been able to really go crazy and cut heaps but I've welded and matted and last night I made my own design.

Here's a pic of my attempt. No bad simple.

My plan is join lots of swaps and get my self trying new stuff. Hmmmmmm. This could be interesting.

I'm cooking a roast so I'm off to cut the veggies.

All things Stargate

I just love this show. Perhaps its the only way I'll ever make it into space, but I love it. Whilst its all fiction it does give me a look into the mind of those defending counties etc putting there lives on the line. Luckily we have no wraith in our Galaxy.......that we know of.

The new Stargate SG1 movie comes out on the 29th July. Stargate Atlantis is back 11th July. What a month good shows and tax time.

Atlantis is my favourite.

Dexter Season 2

Wow what season. It was simply awesome. The ending wasn't what I expected.

The writers of the show are just incredible. I wont say anything because I don't want to spoil anything for those yet to watch it. With the writers strike in the US I have to say it has been a terrible thing and a great thing all at once.

I've changed how I watched TV. I'm away from it alot more and stuff I do watch is way after the kids are in bed. I no longer watch any Cop shows, CSI etc. it got a bit depressing. Is it just me or do others have this too. Dexter RULES

Where have I been? Thats a good question. Christmas was a very flat out time for me. I really didn't space things out like I have in the past.

This is my first post for the year. And I've been thinking about what I want my blog to be. Really its going to be my memory and a way for my friends and family to see what I've been up to.

A New Year.

My scrapping goals

No more than 2 swaps a month.

52 layouts. Same as last year. But I want at least 20 to have swap items on them.

Good heath......eating habits.

Fitness level. Anything better than what I have now.

Get full time job.

I've been watching all the CSI's since they started. But this year I've lost interest in most shows. With exception of Criminal minds and Bionic Woman. That's all I watch.

Then My Partner in crime Karen.............(Karen and Sharon rhyme) She told me about a show. I watched 2 episodes and that was the end of me..

I'm just hanging to watch each episode every week. I have the first season DVD on its way to my house. Of course I've seen it but I'll now own it.

Our serial killer that kills other serial killers.

He does his homework and only kills those who are guilty.

Oh and he's a bit good looking.

What a weekend we've had. Sunday we drove in the Convoy for Kids. It was the first time we'd taken all the kids. And my car too. They have heaps of rides for the kids and I got some awesome shots. I can't wait to scrap them.

Someone most excellent came up with the idea of getting our mothers group hall and scrapping all day. So we did. It was awesome.

I completed 3 layouts and finished 2 mths for a calender swap I'm in.

My scrapping soul mates are my scrapping guru's and never ending givers of inspiration, support and great for that scrappers block that you get towards the end of a layout. Girls you were the best part of the day. Of course we were missing some of our gang. We missed them.

Holiday Monday Madness

Well I continued my cleaning bug into my scrap room and finished setting it right. I have everything where I want it to go. I'm now set for Wednesday and our scrap day. I'm so looking forward to it. There's nothing like a day full of scrapping and good company. I think even if I sit and talk all day I'll be a very happy girl.

The kids are excited too. Jack will be with his best bud. I so need to scrap them. Tomorrow I'll be planning all the things I want to get done. I'll have all my page packs ready.

OK the Madness for the day. I have a Coffee table. Whats MAD about that. I guess its more about what holding it up. DRAG TYRES 2 of them. Its very cool. I wasn't sure to begin with, but now I love it. Kids think its awesome too. Shelby keeps cleaning it. Shes such a girl.

The Weekend

Most bathurst weekends Kev doesn't move off the couch. He's planted there till the race is over. Seeing its the only time hes does it I don't care.

But I took the day to clean the lounge room from top to bottom. I sat and watched all the crashes whilst thinking about my next move. I was disappointed there wasn't more crashes. Not that I wanted anyone to get hurt. But it always rains at the end and they all bump into each other.

The kids watched a bit this year too. Of course I still have a thing for Craig Lowndes ever since he drove the Black Silver and green ford. And he won......YAHOO.

I miss bathurst. One day I want to live there. Just not now. We may end up the coast yet.

What an Awesome Friday

Mum wanted to do something whilst she was off work. We got 3 buy one get one free vouchers and off we went.

Featherdale Wildlife Park. Its awesome. All on one level and it only takes 2hrs to get around it.

The roo's where a hit. And this little fellow soaked up the attention. As you do. The peacocks put on a show too. They seamed to be everywhere showing off there feathers, and might I say I was very happy to follow them and photograph them.

I'm looking forward to our next trip. It's so close and cheap with the vouchers. Here's my favourite animal. What a life...hey

Imagine my suprise to find a petting zoo in the K Mart complex. The kids thought it was great. A big hit was the brushes to brush the animals with. Jackson now brushes everything.

We took a quick trip up the the Norman Lindsay gallery. I really wasn't sure what to expect but is was beautiful. We saw where he worked etc And Imagine this.........he wrote The Magic Pudding. One of our favourite movies. I was amazing to hear the story of how he came about. we'll be going back there for sure. It was so peaceful. Maddison felt right at home there. She needs to be on land. My Scrap Space

I am constantly trying to organize my scrap space. Finding the best storage solutions is my never ending mission.

Most of my ribbons are on cards. But in the bright green stripe etc squares are the rest. I need to get them organised so I know what I have. I find alot when I do a clean up I find stuff I didn't know I had. So its almost like going shopping all over again.

I need another one of these for my growing stamp stash.

Elaine's youngest son Travis turned 1 this week. I made him a canvas when he was born, for his Christening, and this is the one I made for his Birthday. I love this paper, of course its Basic Grey how can you go wrong.

Kev says All roads lead to DENI.................whats that you ask. Deniliquin or Deni is where the big record braking Ute muster is is. It kind of like Kev's home land. He left Wednesday and he'll be back tomorrow night some time.

Of course we're all sick. Because that's what you do at the beginning of the school holidays.

I love holidays. No rush to be anywhere and PJ's all day if we want.

Whilst sick and kids are glued to the TV I've been cleaning my scrap room. And re organising it. Like always I've found some cool stuff I forgot I had. I'll take some pics when its done to share.

I completed a Challenge

On one of my swap groups we have a very cool challenge.

You start with a sketch. The first person crates a layout from in. They
then send a photo or scanned image to the next person of there layout. They then send
the image of the layout to the next person. They in turn create a
layout from this layout. And so it goes on until all those
participating have had a turn. at the end we put them on display to see how
the process changed from the original layout.

Here's mine..................I found this so quick to do.

Fighting Fit

At long last I am healthy again. It took a long time. I was so over it I can tell you.

Lots has happened in the last few weeks.

I have updated my technology, with a new laptop. Its fast and very awesome. Of course it came with Vista, and every time it asks for permission I am reminded of the MAC and PC ad.

I have many thing to report, share, photograph. My latest storage finds...........my constant quest for an organised scrap space. Will it ever end.

Health Saga continues.......

Since my last post not much has changed. Like most people in Sydney I have hopped on the merry-go-round of sickness, and I want to get off. I've had the tummy bug and nausea for many days which quickly changed to the head cold thing.

I'm so over it.

It has however given me the opportunity to scrap some cool pages. How you may ask. Well when you have a temp or can't sleep cause you sleep all day you tend to stay up all night. I seem to be able to focus very well when I'm sick. One very cool side affect I guess.

I have many layouts to share.

Will return when I'm better, although the house look like a bomb hit it so I may be a while.

I had such great plans this week to do stuff, with the kids and for myself. But it all went to hell. Tuesday I woke up with a very sore throat. The DR misdiagnosed and to put a long story short, the threat of hospital scared my body well......or at least enough to stop that @#$% stay.

I'm still not right......but I started eating again today. I've lost 4kg in 4 days. Not bad.

I shall return when school does and show you all my holiday layouts.

Cowra Japanese Garden

It was so pretty. I can only imagine what it would be like in spring. Amazing I bet. we bought fish food to feed the Koi fish. Some where huge. Kids loved it. Of course I took heaps of pics to scrap of course. It seems that I even take photos to scrap and with a layout in mind.

The kids took turns of hitting the Dong, or big bell. Not sure what it was really. But it made the best sound. Perhaps I should get one to call the kids. How cool would that be. And husbands that work on there cars too.........lol

Grenfell Concert

It was great. Sitting listening to great music with my family with me.

This photo is of the stage and of course a rainbow. We love rainbows. Shelby has been drawing them since she could. It was freezing and there were so many people.

We bought the CD Spirit of the bush. We listened to it all the way home. We had a few showers that would last for 5mins and then be gone for about 1/2 hr. But the last shower lasted for some time. it poured. we sat under our umbrella's and couldn't move. The kids made a cubby under the umbrella's. They had so much fun in there. Just as kids do.

Saturday was my 6 year Wedding Anniversary. I'm am so amazed we made it this far. Kev and I have been through so much, but where still going strong. I'll be uploading the photo's to show you where we went. It was bloody cold.

Oh the rain. We some need it. But how many times am I going to have to dry kids shoes.

Where inside so that means SCRAP time. I cleaned up my scrap table. Haha I have one under all the mess. I have a new place to put all my paper. Its sooooo cool. I'll take a pic and share.

16 Layouts

I had to clean my scrap area, so I could use it. In the process I found all the layouts I'd done so far this year. 16 How awesome is that. A few are from Disney World. WOW that was the best holiday I'd ever been on. I've only been back for 5 weeks but I feel like I only came home yesterday.

My goals for this yr are as follows:

52 layouts.....1 a week.
I think I'm a bit behind
Loose weight..........First goal 10kg
Move house.
Keep the house clean......LOL how funny is that. It interferes with my scrapping time.

I'll share some of my layouts when I get them photographed.

What a Weekend

What fun I had helping Kev dig trenches to drain away the water. We had one trouble spot so in true Kevin style, he used the cars to help dig. How you may ask..........He spun the wheels to dig the holes. He made some good smoke in the process. As you do. It was hard work but I laughed so much.

Monday.......Queens Birthday we had our big clean up outside. We saw worms, bugs, red backs etc. Kev decided to burn some cardboard boxes. He insisted it was all good. 20mins later the Fire Engine turned up. Kids were so excited.

I'm looking for a job and we'll be looking to move out......sooner rather than later. Into a house. With a back yard.

Lets hope the week brings new beginnings.

Sketches.....my experiment

For my CJ (Circle Journal) with OZswap till ya drop I used a sketch as my theme. I wanted to see what everyone did with them. Nothing or changed it was a great experiment. It was great.

They all looked fantastic. Everyone has changed in a very small way. Some completely different.

I want to add more layouts to it. Send me yours.

For my next CJ I'll be picking a different sketch.

Well I added a pic's. How techno advanced am I........there's hope for me yet.

Well I have one cause everyone else does too. lol A lame reason but I'm not sure what all the fuss was about so I'm jumping in feet first to have a go and see what the fuss is about.

I know I'll be posting all my layouts and anything else I can think of. Seeing I'm never going to be famous I'll never have to worry about who going to read it. I think.

That's about it for now. I have no idea what I'm doing but lucky I know enough people who can help......I think.
